What is a proforma invoice?
A proforma invoice is a preliminary invoice sent before the goods are shipped. It confirms what you will sell, at what price and on what terms. Buyers often need it to approve a purchase, open a letter of credit, or send an advance payment.
It is not a demand for payment and customs does not use it to clear the goods — for that you need the commercial invoice. In ExportMart AI the proforma uses the same details, so you can turn it into the commercial invoice later without retyping.
